Ken Molestina is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist currently serving as an anchor and reporter for CBS 11 in Dallas–Fort Worth. He joined the CBS Texas team in January 2014, bringing with him extensive experience in investigative reporting and public affairs.
Before moving to North Texas, Ken was a reporter at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C., where he covered major national events, including the 2011 assassination of Osama Bin Laden, President Obama’s 2012 re-election and inauguration, and the 2013 federal government shutdown. Earlier in his career, Ken served as an anchor and reporter at KVIA-TV in El Paso, focusing heavily on crime and public safety.
His investigative work has earned him several accolades. He received an Emmy Award for uncovering underground sewer tunnels in El Paso used by undocumented immigrants and smugglers. He was also nominated for another Emmy for his in-depth reporting on the Barrio Azteca gang, a violent criminal organization along the U.S.-Mexico border. Additionally, he won first place from the Texas Associated Press in the “Breaking News” category.
One of Ken’s most memorable assignments was covering the execution of a Texas death row inmate—conducting the final public interview and witnessing the execution itself.
A New York native raised in Miami, Ken is a graduate of the University of Florida. He began his career as an intern at WFOR-TV in Miami and went on to work in both television and radio in Gainesville, Florida. He also spent nearly three years as a volunteer firefighter with the West Valley Fire Department in El Paso County, giving him firsthand insight into emergency response.
