Dan Bongino Biography
Dan Bongino (born December 4, 1974) is an American government official, conservative political commentator, radio host, and former law enforcement officer. As of March 17, 2025, he serves as the 20th Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Bongino began his law enforcement career with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), serving from 1995 to 1999. He then joined the U.S. Secret Service, where he served from 1999 to 2011, including assignments on the Presidential Protection Division.
Following his time in federal law enforcement, Bongino transitioned into politics and media. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress three times as a Republican. He later became a prominent conservative voice through media, hosting The Dan Bongino Show on Rumble and formerly hosting Unfiltered with Bongino on Fox News until April 2023.
On February 23, 2025, former President Donald Trump announced Bongino’s appointment as Deputy Director of the FBI. Bongino officially assumed office on March 17, 2025, after stepping away from his commentating and broadcasting roles on March 14.
