Manali Lukha Biography
Manali Lukha (born March 7, 1975) is a British weather forecaster for ITV plc and serves as Head of ITV Weather. Lukha has worked extensively with the UK Met Office, where she progressed into a senior role managing the Met Office Media Team.
In this capacity, she has overseen the daily production of weather bulletins for ITN and provided weather services to broadcasters, including ITV and Channel 4. Alongside her managerial responsibilities, she occasionally presents the ITV London weekend weather, allowing her to contribute both editorially and operationally. In 2011 and again in September 2013, she appeared as a relief weather forecaster for STV.
Lukha holds a degree in Geology and Geography, followed by a master’s degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). She joined the Met Office through its graduate recruitment scheme, initially working as a software programmer. During this time, she helped develop weather-related software later used by the Football Association (FA) to assess match conditions. Seeking to move into broadcast meteorology, she transferred to the Met Office Media Centre in 2000, where she went on to secure several key media contracts for the organization.
On 28 September 2012, Lukha presented her final weather forecast before taking maternity leave. She returned to ITV London on 14 January 2013. From November 2013, she began appearing across ITV regions as an occasional relief weather presenter, and by May 2014, she was also featured as a relief presenter on the ITV National Weather.
