Megan Gannon is a dedicated American multimedia journalist currently reporting for WFLA News Channel 8 in Tampa, Florida. She joined the News Channel 8 team in May 2019 and has since become a familiar face in the Tampa Bay area.
A proud graduate of the University of Florida, Megan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication. (Go Gators!) Her passion for broadcast journalism began in high school and continued to flourish during her time at UF, where she gained valuable experience reporting and anchoring for WUFT-TV, the university’s PBS affiliate station.
Megan is a native Floridian who hails from the small coastal town of Port St. Joe. Before moving to Tampa, she began her professional career in Panama City, Florida, reporting for WMBB News 13. She then continued her journalism journey in Mobile, Alabama, working at WPMI – NBC 15 News. Throughout her career, Megan has covered a wide range of stories across the Florida Panhandle and the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Outside the newsroom, Megan enjoys soaking up Florida’s natural beauty, spending time by the water, watching college football (especially on Saturdays in the fall), catching Broadway shows, visiting her family, and staying connected with her nieces and nephews over FaceTime.
