Alexandra M. Cohen is an American philanthropist and the wife of billionaire hedge fund manager Steve Cohen, owner of the New York Mets. Born in Harlem and raised in Washington Heights, New York, she studied communications at Manhattan College before working in the financial industry. She married Steve Cohen in 1992, and together they have five children, including one from her previous marriage. In 2001, Alexandra and her husband co-founded the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, where she serves as president. The foundation focuses on supporting underserved communities, children’s health and education, Lyme and tick-borne disease research, psychedelics and mental health, the arts, and sustainability.
