In May 2023, Dana Perino received an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from her alma mater, Colorado State University Pueblo. Born on May 9, 1972, in Evanston, Wyoming, she spent her formative years in Denver, Colorado, with ancestral ties to Italian immigrants.
Perino completed her bachelor’s degree in mass communications with minors in political science and Spanish from Colorado State University-Pueblo, where she was actively involved in the university’s forensics team and worked at KTSC-TV, the campus-based Rocky Mountain PBS affiliate. She also worked at KCCY-FM during the early morning hours.
She further pursued her academic endeavors, earning a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS).
