In October 2016, Kayla Becker signed with the American professional wrestling promotion WWE and was given the ring name Kayla Braxton. She made her on-screen debut on the October 20, 2016, episode of NXT, held in Lakeland, Florida, working as a host and ring announcer.
Braxton made her first pay-per-view appearance as a backstage interviewer at Backlash on May 21, 2017, and subsequently appeared at several major WWE events, including Battleground 2017, SummerSlam 2017, and Hell in a Cell 2017.
While serving as a ring announcer for NXT, Braxton also appeared across WWE programming, including Raw, 205 Live, and SmackDown, primarily in backstage interviewer and announcing roles. She permanently departed NXT on April 17, 2019, transitioning to WWE’s main roster, where she was replaced on NXT by Alicia Taylor the following week.
On the main roster, Braxton worked as a backstage interviewer on SmackDown and co-hosted WWE’s digital series The Bump. Beginning on August 22, 2020, she served as the host of Talking Smack, which was later rebranded as SmackDown LowDown, alongside Paul Heyman.
