Matt Finn (born July 24) is an American journalist serving as a Los Angeles-based correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC). He joined the network in 2013 through its Junior Reporter Program, originally based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Throughout his tenure at FNC, Finn has contributed to coverage of some of the most pivotal national and international events. On Inauguration Day 2025, he reported live from Washington, D.C., providing commentary during the swearing-in of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance. In January 2025, he covered the California wildfire outbreak, offering continuous breaking news updates. Finn also reported on the anti-Israel campus protests and the growing issue of migrant crossings at the Southern border.
His past assignments include on-the-ground coverage of the 2022 Midterm Elections, as well as international reporting from Lviv, Ukraine, during Russia’s invasion. Finn provided extensive live coverage of the Jussie Smollett trial in Chicago and played a key role in FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage, reporting live from Michigan. His earlier work includes coverage of the 2016 presidential election, the death of music icon Prince, and the Laquan McDonald protests in Chicago.
He also reported extensively on the case of Fox Lake police officer Lt. Joe Gliniewicz, who faked his suicide, and on the Bundy Ranch standoff while stationed in Nevada.
Before joining FOX News, Finn worked as a reporter and anchor for KIMA-TV in Washington and as a producer and stand-in reporter at WBRE-TV in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He holds multiple awards for his investigative journalism, including two from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Peter Lisagor Award for in-depth reporting.
Finn earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia.
