Emily Holwick Biography
Emily Holwick (born September 7, 1989) is an American anchor and reporter currently working for KMBC 9 News, where she serves as a full-time weekend evening anchor and reporter. She has been with the station since November 2015.
After spending much of her life in the Northeast, Holwick has embraced the Midwest and is happy to call it her home. She began her broadcasting career in her hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania, working as a reporter before becoming an evening anchor at WSEE, where she spent nearly two years. During her time there, she also had opportunities to cover international stories from Germany, Italy, and Guatemala.
Prior to joining KMBC-TV and KCWE-TV, Holwick gained valuable experience through internships at CBS News in London from September to December 2010 and at ABC News in New York, where she worked as a Nightline news intern for four months.
At KMBC, Holwick started as a Weekend Anchor/Reporter from November 2015 to April 2016, then served as a Morning News Anchor/Reporter from April 2016 to September 2018, before transitioning into her current role as a weekend evening anchor and reporter.
Outside of work, she is passionate about traveling and enjoys exploring Kansas City’s scenic trails, attending spin classes, and baking. She looks forward to continuing to discover the city while sharing meaningful stories with viewers.
