Mary King Career / Retirement
Mary King began her broadcasting career after graduating from college in 2008. Her first position was as a reporter at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, Maryland. In 2011, she joined WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina, where she worked as a reporter and co-anchor of WIS Sunrise. During her tenure at the station, she covered several major events, including the historic South Carolina floods, the 2015 Charleston church shooting, and the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House grounds.
In August 2019, King joined WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina, as an Alert Center anchor and reporter covering the South Carolina bureau. She later moved to the station’s main morning anchor desk, where she co-anchored WBTV News This Morning alongside John Carter. She also appeared on WBTV’s lifestyle program, QC Life.
