His parents met and married during their time at Fordham Law School, both graduating in the class of 1963. His father served as Village Justice in Croton-On-Hudson, NY, for over two decades. As the eldest of five children, Guy Adami graduated from Croton-Harmon High School in 1982. He captained both the varsity football and basketball teams, earning All-League honors in both sports.
Adami’s notable achievement includes a 104-yard interception return in high school football, which is still one of the longest recorded. In November 2010, Adami was inducted into the Croton Harmon High School Hall of Distinguished Graduates.
He continued his education at Georgetown University, graduating in 1986.
