Mary King is an American journalist known for her work in television news. She has won five Emmy Awards and has a background in anchoring and reporting. Mary joined the WBTV News team in August of 2019. At WBTV, she serves as an Alert Center anchor on “WBTV This Morning” and also works as a reporter covering the South Carolina bureau. Additionally, she co-anchors “WBTV This Morning” on weekdays from 4:30 – 7:00 a.m. and co-hosts one of WBTV’s lifestyle shows, “QC Morning,” at 9:00 a.m.
Before joining WBTV, Mary King worked at WIS-TV, a sister station located in Columbia, South Carolina. During her time there, she was the morning anchor and a reporter for more than seven years. Her work at WIS earned her several Emmy Awards and nominations, including recognition for her live field coverage of South Carolina’s historic flooding in October 2015.
