Anupama pursued a B.Arch in the Faculty of Architecture at Manipal, where she was Satya’s junior. The couple resides in Clyde Hill and Bellevue, Washington, with their three children—a son and two daughters.
Their son, Zain, faced significant challenges as a legally blind quadriplegic with cerebral palsy and sadly passed away in February 2022 at the age of 26. Nadella has spoken openly about how his son’s condition profoundly influenced his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, Nadella is passionate about literature, particularly American and Indian poetry, and cricket, which he actively played during his school years, crediting the sport for enhancing his leadership skills.
He and his wife, Anupama, are also involved in the ownership group of the Seattle Sounders FC, a Major League Soccer club. Nadella is the author of the book “Hit Refresh,” which provides insights into his life, career at Microsoft, and his vision for the future of technology. He has pledged to donate the profits from the book to Microsoft Philanthropies, supporting various nonprofit organizations.
